Pick Analysis. LB. Baylor. 2. player. Scouting Report. Blake Lynch. 860

Blake Lynch is an interesting prospect, to say the least. He originally was recruited to Baylor as a wide receiver before moving to safety last season. Now in the Bears 3-3-5 defense, Lynch is a safety that plays as a glorified outside linebacker. And he has excelled in that role this season. He ranks fourth on the team in total tackles and has the second-most sacks on the team as well.

Lynch actually has solid size to project well at linebacker in the NFL. He is superbly athletic for the position and has shown that he can easily make plays sideline-to-sideline. Obviously, as a former safety, he has very good coverage skills for the position. During games, you can also tell that his experience as a receiver helps him in his ability to read and diagnose routes and route combinations on defense.

Blake Lynch has been a key part of a defense that has been the calling card for Baylor in this wildly successful season. He will likely be a big part of trying to slow down Texas dual-threat quarterback Sam Ehlinger and the Longhorns solid offensive attack as a spy on the QB as well as a factor in coverage.
