WR. Texas. Devin Duvernay. player. 851. Pick Analysis. 6. Scouting Report

Devin Duvernay has burst onto the scene this year for the Longhorns. He has already doubled his previous career highs for a season in nearly every statistical category. In fact, in just 10 games, Duvernay has already amassed 87 catches, 1,017 yards, and seven touchdowns. He has clearly been the best receiver on the Texas Longhorn roster this season.

Duvernay is definitely one of the fastest receivers in the country who uses his speed to stretch the field and gain plenty of yards after the catch. Speaking of after the catch, other than his speed, Duvernay uses his running back-type build to break tackles and run through contact. Fellow receiver Collin Johnson got most of the preseason love as an NFL prospect from the Longhorns’ receiving corp, but it’s Duvernay that has been the most impressive this season.

The Baylor Bears have had a very good team defense this year and will need that team defense to show up in a big way to slow down Devin Duvernay. There is no one on the defense can consistently handle and stay with Duvernay in man coverage one-on-one. Duvernay has had over 100 yards receiving in four straight games and it would be no surprise if he surpassed that mark for the fifth time in as many games.
