Scouting Report
The top player on this list should not come as a surprise to anyone who has watched any college football this season. LSU continues to produce top tier defensive backs, and true freshman cornerback Derek Stingley is the next in line of pro caliber prospects.
Grant Delpit and Kristian Fulton are both looking like first round locks at this point in the college football season, but they both may be getting shown up by the youngster in Stingley. While he has shown glimpses that are a reminder he is only a true freshman, especially in the Alabama game, he has been a stable and consistent force for the Tigers this year.
For being only a freshman, Stingley already has elite ball tracking ability down the field while he still tracks with the receivers downfield. He has great footwork off the line of scrimmage and has all the makings of an all-time great lockdown man cornerback. After Fulton gets drafted, it will officially be Stingley Island down in the Bayou.
If he were draft eligible this year, there is a chance that Stingley could be the first cornerback taken in the 2020 NFL Draft. Unfortunately for him, he has to play football for free at least two more seasons before taking his talents to the next level.
