Scouting Report

A.J. Green, Riley Ridley, Mecole Hardman, Chris Conley, and more; the University of Georgia has done a great job of producing NFL talent at the wide receiver position. They would have had another one in the 2020 NFL Draft had Jeremiah Holloman not gotten kicked off the team after getting into some off the field issues.

In the 2022 draft, and this is a hot take, the Bulldogs may have their best draft eligible receiver since Green in true freshman George Pickens. At 6-3 and 190 pounds, Pickens has NFL size and is a big time red zone threat already down in Athens, Georgia.

After playing high school football just a year ago, Pickens has torched college defenses for 400 yards receiving and four touchdowns on 30 catches from 2020 NFL Draft prospect Jake Fromm. With great hands and body control, Pickens has caught more than one of his four scores in the back corner of the endzone.

When watching his savvy down the field, it is hard to believe that Pickens is only a true freshman. He is going to blow up the SEC over the next two seasons and put himself in position to be a first round pick by the time the 2022 NFL Draft rolls around.
