Scouting Report

The ball production Paulson Adebo has had in the last two years is absurd. He currently sits at 8 Interceptions and 27 PBU’s in the last two seasons. Elite ball skills are no surprise from a guy who is a converted receiver. Making the switch to cornerback, his awareness and mental processing are elite.

He reads routes with ease and understands concepts which allows him to play faster than his overall athletic ability. Adebo often sees plays happen before they even develop as a result of his high football intelligence. He is a player who excels in zone coverage where he is able to have everything in front of him and use his good change of direction abilities to come downhill on balls.

His 6-1 and 190 pound frame doesn’t hinder his ability to be smooth in his transitions as he shows consistent footwork that eliminates false steps and is completely balanced. Adebo plays the game in a cerebral fashion which makes him extremely dangerous to throw at. He provides very aggressive run support as well as a consistent tackler that successfully knifes through ball carriers to bring them to the ground Only in his second season at the position Adebo has a lot of room to grow as far as his press man skills.

The next step in his game will be developing those LOS skills because that’s where he’ll begin to tap into his potential as a lockdown defender. Paulson Adebo will excite teams with his combination of intelligence, smoothness, and exceptional ball skills as the 2020 NFL Draft process continues to heat up.
