One of the more enigmatic players who are eligible for the 2020 NFL Draft, Cal linebacker Evan Weaver presents great film and production.

California linebacker Evan Weaver’s athletic testing at the combine will undoubtedly make or break his 2020 NFL Draft stock this upcoming April as all eyes will be on him in March. Without a doubt, Weaver is one of the best at his position at the collegiate level. Whether or not his talents will translate to the next level have yet to be decided.

With elite production and good film in 2019 for the Golden Bears, Weaver currently sits with a day-two grade from this writer. With a solid show at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis, Indiana in the early Spring, Weaver could solidify himself as a day-two pick. However with a bad testing performance, which many are anticipating, Weaver could fall as far as a late day-three pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Considering the vertical direction the NFL is taking, it is becoming even more important for linebackers to show that they have the athletic ability to track tight ends down the seam, running backs out of the backfield, and quarterbacks in a spy situation. It is yet to be decided if Weaver can fit the bill at the next level.

Looking in depth at Cal’s star linebacker, here is Weaver’s scouting report at the 13 week point in the college football season.
