24. 854. Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Round 5. Pick 146. Chase Lucas. player

The Titans don’t have a fourth-round pick due to the Tannehill trade that was executed in the offseason so they face a long wait until the middle of the fifth round for their next pick.

Lucas has played both the nickel and outside corner positions for the Sun Devils throughout his career. He’s experienced as a long time starter so that’s another trait that GM Jon Robinson desires in his draft selections.

To get Lucas with his skillset in the fifth round would be a steal as he’s ranked in the middle of a loaded cornerback class. He’s a really instinctive corner with just enough athleticism to play both slot and outside corner at the next level. A willing tackler that fears no one with great ball skills.

The Titans do have some depth at corner but not a lot of it going into next season as star Logan Ryan is an impending free agent and Malcolm Butler was placed on IR with an arm injury so Lucas would likely fill in as some depth before developing into a starter. The Titans have a history of unearthing secondary gems in the later rounds such as Jason McCourty and Courtland Finnegan. Could Lucas be the next one they find this late in the draft?
