2020 Mock Draft: Franchise QB on the horizon for the Titans?
By Joseph Yun
7.210 Davon Hamilton 6’4 310 DL Ohio State RS Senior
Hamilton is an underrated cog of the Buckeyes’ standout defensive line and he’s been a long time starter that has improved every year. He’s the type of defensive tackle that’s willing to do the dirty work on the interior so that his star pass rushing teammates can shine. There’s immense value in that. Moves well for a guy his size. He holds up well at the point of attack and has some pass rush moves in his arsenal
The Titans do need some depth behind star defensive lineman Jurrell Casey as he’s been hampered with a few injuries this season but still remains an impact guy. There is not a lot depth behind him so a player of Hamilton’s pedigree might be useful.
He can sit and develop behind one of the best tackles in the league. The organization is notorious as of late for finding hidden gems that turn into role players along the defensive front. This seems like a low risk, high reward pick for the Titans here in the last round of the draft.
GM Jon Robinson values work ethic and character along with consistency so Hamilton fits that mold. The Titans add depth to the defensive front with the selection of the Buckeye here and round out their mock draft rather swimmingly. A great haul in the 2020 NFL Draft for the Titans.
