Stock Up: Arizona State

Eno Benjamin | Junior | Running back

Benjamin is easily my favorite Arizona State Sun Devils prospect and he fully displayed why I love his game so much last Saturday. With the athleticism to create in the open field with good agility and the tenacity to churn out the tough inside yards, Benjamin is a true three-down back. In addition, he has natural hands, which was fully on display with 5 receptions for 54 receiving yards.

Benjamin may have only averaged 3.7 yards per carry on the ground, but a total of 168 yards from scrimmage was the big reason why his quarterback Jayden Daniels had as good of a game as he did. Several key first downs came from Benjamin and his performance definitely helped balance out the performance of his receiving corps.

He shouldn’t be any lower than a day two pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

The ASU wide receivers | Senior Brandon Aiyuk & Redshirt Junior Frank Darby

Both Aiyuk and Darby easily destroyed the Oregon secondary. The duo combined for a mindblowing 11 receptions for 286 receiving yards along with 3 reception touchdowns. Countless times both receivers torched a particular Oregon cornerback (to be referenced later in this article) with smooth inside moves and acceleration upfield toward the boundary.

Both receivers can handle man coverage and showed excellence being on an island. Aiyuk is definitely worth early day two consideration and I wouldn’t be surprised if Darby declared and got drafted in day three. Without either of these receivers, Oregon may have had a better shot.
