Alabama once again has some serious NFL level talent in the secondary. Tell me you haven’t heard that one before.

7 Trevon Diggs 6’2 200 CB Senior

Diggs is one of the best corners in the nation. Teams will love his size as more and more teams value size in their corners like the Seattle Seahawks once did a few years ago. Diggs has sat behind a long line of NFL cornerbacks until finally getting his shot at stardom last season. 2019 has been no different. A long and physical type of corner that relishes contact. Has played both the nickel and outside corner throughout his career.

15 Xavier McKinney 6’1 197 S Junior

Much like Diggs, McKinney had to patiently wait his turn behind some high caliber NFL prospects. He’s an athletic freak that can play both free safety and in the box. Ball skills and instincts are pluses for him. A highly instinctive defender that has a nose for the football but he gambles a bit too often, going for the home run hit. He should be declaring for the draft much like his predecessor Ronnie Harrison.

21 Jared Mayden 6’0 205 S Senior

Mayden has garnered some hype as a prospect but hasn’t really flashed a ton. He did garner an invite to the 2020 Senior Bowl though. A versatile athlete that has played all over the secondary. The drills will be critical for him as he’s put a lot on tape this season but not so much besides that. The versatility will be his calling card to the pros.

5 Shyheim Carter 6’0 195 S Senior

Carter projects as a strong safety type for the next level due to his limited athletic profile. Fundamentally sound and generally in the right place but will get beat by faster offensive skill players.
