Scouting Report

Entering in at number nine on the list is the first of the Alabama trio hinted at in the introduction, DeVonta Smith. While he has been the most productive of the three receivers this year for the Crimson Tide, he lacks the speed, agility, and flash of the other two to show up later in this list.

Smith, however, is the most consistent of the three Crimson Tide receivers, and as a result, has been getting noticed by drafniks and NFL teams alike. This year, Smith has racked up 1,200 yards and 13 touchdowns on 65 catches from both Tua Tagovailoa and Mac Jones for the Alabama offense.

At 6-1 and 175 pounds, Smith will make a consistent underneath receiver and security blanket for an NFL team at the next level, much like that of Rashard Higgins of the Cleveland Browns or Quincy Enunwa of the New York Jets. With great footwork, catch comfortability, and even ability as a blocker, Smith is a pro at all of the minor details at the wide receiver position.

This will lead to major success at the next level. Smith is listed as a mid-to-late third round pick by this writer, but will be an absolute gem for one lucky NFL team.
