Scouting Report

K.J. Hill is just five catches shy of breaking David Boston’s record at Ohio State for catches in a career; the senior Hill currently sits at 188 career catches over the past four years, including 44 this season for 486 yards and eight touchdowns for the Buckeyes in 2019. In addition to his 188 catches, 2,182 yards receiving and 18 touchdowns in his collegiate career.

At the next level, Hill is going to make one heck of a slot receiver and best friend to one quarterback. While he is not the fastest guy on the field, or at least his play speed is not elite, Hill has a quick twitch to his game that allow for him to have great footwork off the line of scrimmage and crisp breaks on his routes.

With some of the best hands in the class, Hill displays Charmin soft hands and great catch comfortability. Hill is a high energy player, a guy teams would love to build an offense with, and is a quarterback’s dream with his ability to work back to the ball, find holes in zone coverage, and flash his number.

Right now, Hill is graded out as an early third round pick. Like Terry McLaurin a year ago, Hill will be a fun player to keep tabs on throughout this pre-draft process.
