Scouting Report

The second of the three Alabama receivers has made his appearance on this list as the fifth best receiver in this 2020 NFL Draft class. Potentially the fastest player in the draft class, Henry Ruggs III has speed that cannot be taught, the same kind of speed that got John Ross drafted in the top 10 of the 2017 draft.

Big play potential with great ability to track the deep ball down the field, make plays after the catch, and good body control, Ruggs III is an elite deep threat, a mold NFL teams are sure to fall in love with. Ruggs is, however, not the sharpest of route runners, a willing participant in the run game; he can get bullied off his route at the line of scrimmage or as he crosses the face of a defender.

This season, Ruggs has followed up a sophomore campaign where he tallied 741 yards receiving and 11 touchdowns on 46 catches with an even more productive junior year. In 2019, Ruggs has tallied 719 yards receiving and seven touchdowns on 38 catches in three less games to this point.

Ruggs is electric, and that has him graded out as a second round prospect; he looks to be, barring some unforeseen issue, a first round lock in the 2020 NFL Draft.
