UCF WR Gabriel Davis declares for the 2020 NFL Draft
By Joseph Yun
University of Central Florida wide receiver Gabriel Davis has just become the latest underclassman to declare for the 2020 NFL Draft.
The leading receiver for Golden Knights has declared for the draft this morning as true junior Gabriel Davis that has improved his production every year that he’s been on campus. Two years ago, Courtland Sutton landed with the Denver Broncos out of the AAC, and now Davis could be next.
He has posted a stat line of 72 receptions for 1,241 yards and 12 touchdowns for the upstart Golden Knights. He finishes his collegiate career with over 2,400 yards receiving and 23 touchdowns for the Golden Knights.
The first thing that pops off the screen when you watch him is the size of course, as he measures in at a listed 6-3 and 212 pounds. He has the height, weight, and length that NFL teams will covet at the next level. He’s really an underrated vertical weapon that can get going 0-60 in a hurry. At the size he’s listed for, he can a true X receiver that can scare people when he’s placed in the slot as some teams are likely wont to do.
He isn’t all about the speed either. Davis is an excellent route runner from the film study that I did of him. He has an old man’s game feeling about him when he runs his route. I wouldn’t say that he has the best route running ability in the class but it’s at least in the top five. The type of receiver that just knows where the first down sticks are at all times.
He is another name to monitor in a deep group of wide receivers in the 2020 NFL Draft class. Gabriel Davis is in as he has decided to forego his senior season at the University of Florida.
