The Dolphins may be reticent to take Tagovailoa with their first pick in the wake of his injury, however, they may still be the favorites to draft him given Miami has three picks in the opening round.

Ryan Fitzpatrick is signed through to 2021, so this is another situation in which Tagovailoa could initially sit without having to rush his return to the field.

Miami has made significant progress in recent weeks, and head coach Brian Flores has rightly received praise for winning games with a roster extremely low on NFL talent. Depending on how the Miami uses its vast resources this offseason and how his recovery goes, Tagovailoa could be in a position to have the Dolphins playing meaningful football again very quickly should they give him a chance.
