Green Bay Packers

Could history repeat itself?

Aaron Rodgers is under contract until through 2023 but, with the future Hall of Fame quarterback now 36, there is at least the possibility the Packers look to draft his successor and allow him to sit a few years the way Rodgers did when he was selected as Brett Favre’s heir apparent in 2005.

Tagovailoa could hardly ask for a better mentor than Rodgers. It would be a shame to have to endure an extended wait to see one of the most exciting quarterback prospects of recent years take the field. However, if Tagovailoa slides, the Packers could do worse than to use their first pick on a player with the ability to ensure they remain contenders in the post-Rodgers era.
