Scouting Report

The best cornerback prospect of the decade came right on time at the end of the decade. At 6’1” and 200lbs with freakishly long arms, Jeffery Okudah is as picture perfect as they come at the cornerback position. His game is also the most advanced you’ll see from a corner not only in the college game but at the next level as well.  Okudah comes equipped with elite LOS skills, elite athleticism, and picture-perfect technique.

He displays elite footwork that is consistently balanced, allowing him to show off his explosive change of direction abilities once he diagnoses the route. His very good click and close abilities are evident in his comfort to let routes close on him in off-coverage so that he can play tight at all times.

Once the ball is in the air, Okudah uses his very good length to get his hands on the football. Rarely out of position, Okudah competes on every ball in his coverage as he understands when to turn his head around or when to play the receivers hands. He is not afraid to add support in the run game as a very willing and solid tackler as well

An elite talent and special prospect, Okudah will finish the draft process as a Top-3 overall player on this writer’s board. He’ll be a day-one impact starter for an NFL team who will develop into a shutdown corner that shadow opposing team’s top receiver on a weekly basis. If Wisconsin wants to win, it would be in their best interest to avoid Jeffery Okudah on Saturday night.
