2020 NFL Draft: Big Ten championship stock up report

JK Dobbins RB
Scouting Report
JK Dobbins has probably been the most improved player in all of college football. Saturday night he continued his breakthrough season. He was the only Ohio State player who showed up from start to finish. Dobbins continues to climb the ladder up the running back rankings as he has been a man on a mission all season long.
Dobbins runs with violence on every carry as a downhill runner who doesn’t shy away from contact on any snap. Willing to run between the tackles and pick up the tough yards while lowering his shoulder to fight for extra yards. He has good vision to wait on his blocks and allow the play to develop before he shoots the hole.
He’s built low to the ground at 5’10” and 217lbs which his even more dangerous because he is a guy who runs really well behind his pads with good pad level. Has shown some good straight-line speed when getting to the second level to run away from defenders and spring off explosive runs His contact balance is absolutely insane as he absorbs hits without going to ground and forces tacklers to bring their best efforts.
Dobbins is very good in pass protection which is a huge trait at the position, shows very good strength to sit his weight down and take on pass rushers. The most impressive part of his game this year is how effective he has been for Ohio State in the passing game. He has shown soft hands to catch the ball out of the back field and create yards after the catch in the open field as a reliable check down option.
Dobbins seemingly gets better every week you tune into him and that will hold a lot of value in the eyes of evaluators. Saturday night’s 172-yard performance helped his case in carving out a niche in an already deep crop of running backs. JK Dobbins has the ability to be a bell cow back for a team and has great day-two value in the 2020 NFL Draft.
