Scouting Report

A cornerback prospect in the 2020 NFL Draft that has flown under the radar, A.J. Terrell is ready to display his top-15 potential to the world.

A special group of cornerbacks this year will force many to have different boards based off what they like at the position for the upcoming 2020 NFL Draft. This year’s group won’t be short on having its fair share of first rounders when looking at the guys at the top of the list. One cornerback in particular who is quietly putting together a case to be a Top-15 pick is Clemson’s A.J. Terrell.

Terrell was the best cornerback on Clemson’s National Championship team last year despite playing with Oakland Raiders’ second round pick Trayvon Mullen. Terrell’s length jumps off the screen first as he stands at 6-1 and 190lbs; he has the prototypical build that you would want to see in a corner amongst other abilities.

Fresh off being named 1st Team All-ACC, Terrell has a chance to introduce himself to the world as he takes the big stage of the college football playoffs. His stats won’t pop off the page as he currently only stands at ttwo interceptions and four pass break ups, but his impact in the Clemson secondary allows him to shut down one half of the field consistently.

A.J. Terrell is as quiet as they come when it comes to buzz on first round prospects, but his loud traits won’t allow him to hide much longer as the draft gets closer. A player that you need to keep an eye on once the playoffs start, Terrell is ready to make another big splash the same way he did on his pick six in the national championship game last year; Terrell is a Top-15 pick waiting to happen and you need to know why.
