Scouting Report. Wide Receiver. 7. player. 52. Pick Analysis. Oklahoma. CeeDee Lamb

With this pick, I bounced back and forth between CeeDee Lamb and Jerry Jeudy but ultimately decided that Lamb is a better option for this team. Both are phenomenal in their own right and you can’t go wrong with either of the two, but what Lamb can do with the ball in his hands is not like many in this class; it’s rare.

Before the beginning of the year, Lamb was drawing comparisons to DeAndre Hopkins of the Houston Texans, because of his ball skills and body control, but coming out of college Hopkins didn’t have the ability to make plays with the ball in his hands like Lamb does. When Lamb has the ball in his hands, he has one goal in mind: get in the end zone and not many defensive backs are going to stop him.

Scouting Report. Quarterback. 19. 52. Pick Analysis. Utah State. Jordan Love. player

Minshew Mania has died down in Jacksonville and despite some promising play from the rookie, it doesn’t appear as though he’ll ever be in the top tier of quarterbacks in the league. Nick Foles has not looked great in his appearances for the Jag’s and similar to Minshew, he’ll never be one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, he is too inconsistent.

Jordan Love, on the other hand, does have the arm talent to reach the top of the totem pole, with the proper coaching. At this time, Love still has a lot of growing to do, but if you can get him to sit a year or even just half the season, behind one of the two quarterbacks already in place it will give him a better shot to develop in the NFL rather than throwing him out into the fire.

player. 52. Pick Analysis. Cornerback. Clemson. A.J. Terrell. 39. Scouting Report

After the Jalen Ramsey trade, Tre Herndon stepped in as his replacement and it hasn’t been terrible, but it hasn’t been great either. With the depth of the 2020 cornerback class, it should be a no-brainer to attack the position and try to build something similar to what they had with Ramsey and AJ Bouye.

AJ Terrell is one of the better cornerbacks in the class and getting him in the second round is great value. He has some of the best technique of the cornerbacks coming out and has the skills to play in just about any coverage the Jaguars want to run. Terrell is uber aggressive against the run and could help Jacksonville’s run defense that has struggled this year.

player. 52. Pick Analysis. Tight End. Vanderbilt. Scouting Report. Jared Pinkney. 71

A young quarterback’s best friend is often the tight end and whether or not they decide to go with Minshew (or in this case Love) moving forward the Jaguars need a tight end with some receiving chops, something they have been lacking for a while now.

Jared Pinkney has not had a great year production-wise, but an invitation to the Senior Bowl should help his draft stock after some poor quarterback play for Vanderbilt. Pinkney is more of a receiver than a blocker right now, which is fine because the Jaguars desperately need what Pinkney possesses.
