2020 NFL Draft: 3 round mock for 5 playoff eliminated teams

The Jets’ most glaring need is the offensive line. At this point, they don’t need to attack a certain position, but rather taking the best player on the board and that’s exactly what Tristan Wirfs is.
Wirfs plays right tackle for the Iowa Hawkeyes, and despite not defending what would be Darnold’s blindside, they just need to keep Darnold in upright. Wirfs is an elite athlete for an offensive lineman and if the Jets decide to move him to the left side it shouldn’t take much for him to adjust.
Wirfs is a former state champion wrestler in high school and it shows on the football field. He understands how to use leverage to his advantage as well as good grip strength and understanding for hand position. Wirfs should be plug-n-play for the Jets next season.
Injuries are likely the cause of Terrell Lewis falling this far in the draft, but talent is not because he certainly has it. The combine will be huge for Lewis and his stock if he can get through the medical process.
The Jets have the talent on the interior of their line, but with Lewis, on the outside, they will all of a sudden have it throughout their defensive front. Lewis possesses a great first step to beat tackles around the edge and the bend to match. Getting after the quarterback is something the Jets have lacked for quite a while now, but with their new addition, it should be one of their strengths.
The Jets don’t have many options on the outside so getting their young quarterback a receiver is a must.
Similar to Lewis, medicals will be huge for Tylan Wallace and where he goes in the draft after suffering an ACL injury sidelining him for the rest of the year. Before he went down, however, he was well on his way to being one of the most productive receivers in the nation.
Wallace has great tracking ability and ball skills to come down with the 50/50 balls giving Darnold the option to just throw it up to him, something Darnold has not yet had in his young NFL career.
It’s no secret that Gregg Williams loves to blitz, so getting a corner who can operate in man coverage is a necessity and Jaylon Johnson is just that. He is extremely aggressive at the line-of-scrimmage and isn’t going to allow the receiver to get into his route with ease.
Johnson can struggle to stay in-phase as the rout progresses, but with Williams’ scheming up pressure there won’t be many times where he’ll have to defend receivers for long periods of time making this a great fit for both the Jets and Johnson.
