Heisman Trophy: Perfect NFL fits for the 2019 finalists
Justin Fields – New Orleans Saints
Fields won’t be in play for the draft until 2021, by which point the Saints may finally be ready to settle on their quarterback of the future.
Whether they’d be in a position to draft Fields is another matter. Even as he nears his 41st birthday, Drew Brees has the Saints back in the playoffs again, and retirement does not appear around the corner.
But it will come eventually, and Sean Payton is precisely the kind of play-caller for whom the Ohio State star could flourish.
Flourish is all Fields has done this year, with his incredible 40-1 touchdown to interception ratio and his dynamic ability as a runner propelling the Buckeyes to the College Football Playoff.
Payton could certainly harness both and would surely be able to cook up some play designs involving Fields and Taysom Hill were he to somehow land in New Orleans.
