Scouting Report

Does it get anymore special at the skill position in this 2020 NFL Draft than Jerry Jeudy? Jeudy is so clean as a prospect that many have begun to create reasons as to why he may not be WR1; well this writer is here to tell you to not overthink it. There are just some things that need to be left as is because Jeudy has a PHD in route running that is given when the torch is passed down to the next great Alabama wide receiver.

Jeudy’s talent is undeniable and he can get open however you need him to; line him up in the slot or outside and watch him go to work. He has lightening quick releases to defeat press coverage and consistently comes to the line of scrimmage with a plan to defeat press and will dip into his bag of tricks to defeat it with different techniques.

The elite foot quickness he displays against press translates to his route running; Jeudy is able to snap off routes in a second with special route running ability. His hip flexibility is unbelievable as he sinks his hips with ease to burst out of his breaks; this incredible display of body control also extends into his ability to adjust to the football in the air.

There aren’t many drops to his game as he is a reliable target you can rely on in crucial situations. He has good long speed to be a vertical threat but his separation mostly stems from his elite route running abilities.

The most special part of his game is watching him turn into a video game after he catches the ball as Jeudy is a threat to score every time he touches the football as he is as dangerous as they come when it comes to yards after the catch. Jerry Jeudy is a special prospect that is reminiscent of Odell Beckham Jr. and he is the type of weapon who will make a quarterback look like a box score hero when he turns a two-yard route into a fifty-yard touchdown.
