Other Prospects

Darnay Holmes, CB, UCLA

On the smaller side — 5’10”, 198-pounds — and because of it will likely project to the slot, but that doesn’t take away from the talent he possesses. Last year, against Oklahoma, Holmes lined up against Marquise Brown (the only receiver selected in the first round last year) and he did a great job shutting him down.

Holmes is a phenomenal athlete who has the skill to keep up with any of the speedsters that line up in the slot in the NFL.

Terrell Lewis, Edge/OLB, Alabama

Terrell Lewis is only a redshirt junior, but since he graduated this winter, he gets the opportunity to play in the Senior Bowl. Lewis has arguably the best first step in the draft; he is extremely explosive out of his stance, making it tough to defend the corner against him. His ability to threaten the edge leaves the inside open, and he’ll take it when it’s there.

The biggest thing for Lewis and his draft stock will be the medicals at the combine, and with a great performance at the Senior Bowl, he could be chosen in the top half of the first round.

JaMychal Hasty, RB, Baylor

Hasty is a bit on the smaller side of the spectrum coming in at 5’9″, but we have seen smaller runningbacks find success in the NFL: Tarik Cohen and Darren Sproles have been able to carve out a decent career for themselves. The list may not be very long, but the road to success has been paved and Hasty is of a similar mold.

He isn’t going to be a guy you want running between the tackles, but he is a reliable pass-catcher out of the backfield, reeling in over 70 receptions in the last 3 years.
