Who are some players with 2020 NFL Draft talent to watch in the Makers Wanted Bahamas Bowl?

It is officially College Football Bowl season! It kicks off later today when Buffalo takes on UNC-Charlotte in the Makers Wanted Bahamas Bowl at 2 pm on ESPN. Both schools have enjoyed solid seasons this year to get to bowl eligibility. For UNC-Charlotte, this is actually the first time in school history that they have been bowl eligible. Meanwhile, Buffalo has a very young team and have been legitimate contenders in the MAC for the past few years. Who are some 2020 NFL Draft prospects to watch in this one?

Buffalo finished the regular season with a 7-5 record overall and finished 5-3 in conference play. They beat some good teams this year in Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, and Toledo. The Bulls reached bowl eligibility behind a good running game and solid defense. The saying has been “run the ball and stop the run” are key to racking up wins. Buffalo did that as well as anybody by gaining 254 yards per game on offense while the defense held opponents rushing attacks to below 100 yards per game.

UNC-Charlotte also finished the season with a 7-5 record and a 5-3 record in conference play. Their biggest wins included victories over North Texas, UTEP, and Marshall. The 49ers accomplished their success through a balanced offense as the averaged around 210 yards per game in both rushing and passing. The defense gave up a lot of points and yards on the year but made up for it by making opportunistic plays like interceptions and sacks.

Naturally, with two smaller schools competing, there isn’t going to be an abundance of NFL talent on the field in this game. That being said, there are some intriguing players on both sides that will have a chance to get drafted and/or be on an NFL Training Camp roster next fall.
