The Cincinnati Bengals have locked in the number one over pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, and the selection should be obvious, but might not be.

With a 38-35 loss to the Miami Dolphins in week 16, the Cincinnati Bengals have officially locked up the number one overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. The game itself was a wild one, with a furious comeback by Cincinnati to force overtime. Fans were beside themselves with a potential loss of the top pick. In the end, though, the Dolphins got the win and the Bengals are on the clock

It seems to be a near guarantee that the Bengals brass takes LSU quarterback Joe Burrow with that selection. Andy Dalton seems destined to play elsewhere next year, and Ryan Finley proved himself to be a backup at best. They have several needs, but none is ever bigger for an NFL team than a passer, and when you need a QB, you go get a QB.

That said, is there a scenario where the Bengals don’t take the obvious pick? Fans of the team will tell anyone who listens that they don’t always do the sensible thing. They have made some terrible first round picks over the past few years, and while it would devastate them, it probably wouldn’t shock fans if they did something crazy. Here is a look at what the Bengals could do with the number one pick.
