The third offensive tackle to come off of the board in four picks, Iowa’s Tristan Wirfs heads to the New York Jets as they also struggle to protect their future franchise quarterback Sam Darnold. While Wirfs has yet to declare, why would a player projected to land in the top ten of the 2020 NFL Draft take a chance and return to school to play football for free? From the cornfields of Iowa, Wirfs is off to the bright lights of the Big Apple.

Have the Denver Broncos found their future franchise quarterback? It certainly appears that Drew Lock has the potential to lead the navy and orange into the future after he has gotten off to a solid start to his professional career under-center. Courtland Sutton has emerged as a threat at the receiver position in his second year, DeaSean Hamilton looks like a solid, consistent slot receiver, and Noah Fant has improved week-by-week at the tight end position. Adding CeeDee Lamb to the mix gives the Broncos one of the most formidable passing attacks in the league for years to come.

Who?

While Houston offensive tackle Josh Jones may not be a household name just yet, he certainly will be as the pre-draft process gets underway. His tour will start at the Senior Bowl, then the athletic tackle will go to the combine in March where he is sure to put on a show. Do not be surprised to see Jones be a riser in the 2020 NFL Draft. Here he lands with the Cleveland Browns, a team in desperate need of offensive line assistance.
