The 2019 Cotton Bowl features one of the more intriguing matchups when Penn State and Memphis will face off as a prelude to the College Football Playoffs later in the day. Both teams experienced a great amount of success this season and deserve to be a bowl game with the prestige and history of the Cotton Bowl. What 2020 NFL Draft prospects are set to showcase themselves?
Penn State achieved its third double-digit win season in the past four years under James Franklin by getting to a 10-2 record in the regular season. The Nittany Lions also finished second in the Big Ten only behind the excellent Ohio State team. They enter the bowl game ranked 10th in the country and will look to close their season out strong with their 11th win in 2019.
The Memphis Tigers, meanwhile, have also enjoyed a fantastic season. They finished the regular season with a 12-1 record including a victory over Cincinnati to claim the AAC Conference Championship. They earned the spot in this bowl game by being the best and highest-ranked non-Power 5 conference team. Their task of getting to 13 wins this season will be a little tougher than expected as head coach Mike Norvell has already accepted and left for the head coach position at Florida State.
Penn State and Memphis are two very talented teams. Naturally, that means there will be many top NFL prospects on the field in this game. But who are the best prospects that you should keep an eye on throughout the game?
