The 2020 NFL Draft should feature premium EDGE talent for any team that needs it. But one player no one talks about enough is Tennessee’s Darrell Taylor.
“A physical specimen”. That’s how Jim Nagy, Executive Director of the Reese’s Senior Bowl, described Tennessee Volunteers EDGE Darrell Taylor when profiling talented seniors this fall. Now, not only will Taylor look to make his name known as a pass rusher down in Mobile, Alabama next month, but he continues to fly under the radar as far as 2020 NFL Draft prospects go.
Overall, he is spot on with his assessment. The 6’4” and 256-pound hybrid linebacker in head coach Jeremy Pruitt’s 3-4 scheme boasts a rocked out, chiseled frame with the ideal length for an NFL pass rusher. And when considering the way NFL teams fawn over players built like Taylor, it’ll be no surprise when teams agree with Nagy’s opinion during the 2020 NFL Draft.
Darrell Taylor, a redshirt senior, is one of the longest-tenured players on the University of Tennessee football roster. With over 40 games of experience, including 24 starts, Taylor has grown tremendously from his athletic beginnings in Hopewell, Virginia.
While the Volunteers had a subpar season, Taylor has had a good year. Here is an in-depth look at Tennessee’s stucd pass rusher as he prepares to take his game to the next level.
