Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Edge Rusher. 2. player. Ohio State. Chase Young. 58

Arguably the best player in college football in 2019, the unquestioned top athlete slides in at number two. Chase Young earned 20 first-place votes in the Heisman Trophy race for a reason. This manic terror off the edge will bolster the worst of defenses.

Washington, however, is a defense that has ranked in the top 10 in team sacks the past four seasons, with 46 each of the past two under defensive coordinator Greg Manusky. While the total team stats do not reflect the advantage of creating such pressure, the added threat of Chase Young changes the method teams employ in attacking Washington moving forward.

Pick Analysis. 50. 3. player. Scouting Report. Cornerback. Ohio State. Jeffrey Okudah

With quarterback Matthew Stafford being placed on injured reserve for the final five games of 2019, the Lions failed its way to the top of the 2020 NFL Draft. As a reward, the Lions find a comrade for Darius Slay at the cornerback position. Jeffrey Okudah has lockdown corner potential. In a division facing Aaron Rodgers and Kirk Cousins and his weapons, the Lions would be wise to shore up its defensive backfield.

In years past, the Lions have chosen wide receivers and defensive tackles from top-five selections. While Jerry Jeudy and Derrick Brown are wildly enthralling at this position, the needs simply don’t match up. Kenny Golloday and A’Shawn Robinson are budding playmakers at their respective positions.

Still, Okudah has shown a superstar quality that cannot be passed up, especially from the likes of head coach Matt Patricia.
