Texas A&M wide receiver Quartney Davis has elected to forgo his redshirt senior season and declare for the 2020 NFL Draft in a loaded draft class.

Quartney Davis has decided to declare for the 2020 NFL Draft as a redshirt junior after producing 99 receptions for 1,201 yards and 11 touchdowns while averaging 12.1 yards per reception. He led the Aggies in receiving in the most recent Texas Bowl victory, posting six receptions for 48 yards and no touchdowns.

Davis is the best route runner of the trio of Aggies receivers that played significant snaps during the 2019 season. He has the quickness and lateral agility to constantly find a way to get open. Davis has had a lot of medical issues in his career, suffering an ACL injury in 2016 and missing a couple of games this season due to various ailments.

When healthy, he’s a YAC machine that can vary his depth and speed of the routes. Consistent production as he’s posted back to back 550 yard+ efforts in consecutive years. The medical testing will be very key for him at the Combine and he may require a recheck before the draft.

It remains to be seen if any of his fellow receivers join him in declaring for the draft or if he is the lone figure to go pro. Davis joins defensive lineman Justin Madubuike, who previously declared and subsequently sat out the bowl game for draft preparations.

As stated in his Twitter post, Davis has already graduated from A&M. He would project as a fourth round selection at best due to lack of elite production and an extensive medical history that will give some teams pause.
