Scouting Report
Ohio State Defensive End Chase Young has declared for the NFL Draft! Chase Young is seen as the general consensus top player overall in the draft class. His talent his undeniable and his draft grade has started to draw comparisons to that of Myles Garrett. Young is a special talent who has dominated college football with ease this year.
Despite being suspended two games earlier in the year due to an NCAA violation, he still managed to make a run as a Heisman finalist. What he has been able to do while drawing heavy attention from opposing teams is a testament to his talent.
Even against Clemson where he had no sacks, we still saw him make his impact on the game by pushing the pocket and creating consistent pressure. He is a player who consistently wins because even as a top prospect, he plays with a high motor to match his elite skillset.

Chase Young has elite upfield burst that is jaw dropping for a guy who stands at 6-5 and 265lbs. He often finds himself in the backfield before the offensive tackle can even begin their pass pro set. Young is seemingly always right on time, making a big play in the backfield on almost every crucial down.

He can beat you with his upfield burst or he can overwhelm you with his strength and blow right through you. One of the biggest improvements in his game so far this year has been his ability to use his hands to get him free. The improved hand usage has given him more of an arsenal as a pass rusher who needed to develop counter moves. Granted, he probably doesn’t need any counter moves at this point in his career because he gets where he wants at any time he wants.

Young has undoubtedly been the best player in college football this year on the defensive side of the football. He will be the best player on most people’s boards because the unreal production he has put together this year.
His talent level is so elite that it has brought into question whether the Bengals would pass on a quarterback just to add him. No matter where he goes, Chase Young is going to make an impact as a day 1 starter. Chase Young is the best football player in this draft class and will continue to dominate at the NFL level as well.
