One of the better 2020 NFL Draft cornerback prospects, Shaun Wade, has decided to return for another campaign in Columbus.

According to various sources, Shaun Wade has elected to return for his redshirt junior season for the Ohio State Buckeyes, allowing them a veteran presence as they retool the secondary around him instead of declaring for the 2020 NFL Draft. He joins linebacker Baron Browning in returning to campus as Browning decided to stay earlier this week.

Wade was a five star recruit on both ESPN and 247Sports and he has lived up to the hype and then some. He has all the physical tools to be the first cornerback off the draft board during the 2021 NFL draft. Wade has also shown consistent levels of production in both years that he has started so teams will love that.

His tackle numbers dropped off slightly but he gained in tackles for loss and sacks. He has posted seven passes defensed in both 2018 and 2019.

Wade wins his battles with the best receivers with a lot of lateral quickness and mobility. He will need to improve his tackling form.

The first test for Mr. Wade during the 2020 season will be the second game of the season against Rose Bowl champion Oregon and their fleet of receivers.

He is widely expected to take the Buckeyes’ CB1 mantle from Jeffery Okudah, who rightly declared for the draft this past week. Good news, Columbus: Wade is back to give the silver bullets one of their most versatile chess pieces for another year.
