NFL Playoffs: 5 Most important rookies in the postseason
Darnell Savage – Green Bay Packers
The Packers have gotten very little from first-round pass rusher Rashan Gary, but their decision to trade up for former Maryland safety Savage has proven inspired.
Savage recorded five passes defensed and two interceptions in the regular season while forcing a pair of fumbles.
The NFC is a conference filled with quarterbacks who have excelled making plays downfield. The 49ers had 62 passing plays of 20 yards or more in the regular season. The Seahawks had 55 and the Saints 54.
If the Packers are to go all the way, then Savage will have to reproduce his regular-season from consistently to stop Green Bay’s postseason rivals hitting those plays against a defense that has enjoyed an impressive turnaround in 2019.
