Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Penn State. 1. EDGE. Yetur Gross-Matos. player. 806

It’s tempting to mock an offensive player here for New England considering they had issues with consistency this season. However, they still were seventh in the NFL in scoring at 26.2 points per game — although they were middle of the pack in yardage at 354 per contest.

We don’t go that route here though because they have already used some significant assets on offensive players in the past year. In 2019, they went with N’Keal Harry with their first-round pick. He missed much of his rookie season, playing in only seven games.

Due to the missed time, he had just 12 receptions for 105 yards and two scores. He should be able to make huge strides this coming season, and has shown flashes that he can be a stud.

New England also traded their second-round pick this season to Atlanta for Mohamed Sanu, who is under contract through 2020. Sanu came over midway through the season and had 26 receptions for 207 yards. The Patriots offense is all about timing, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see him improve this coming season with more time in the offense.

With all that being said, the Patriots decide to grab Yetur Gross-Matos from Penn State. The 6-5, 264-pound defensive end has a non-stop motor and could be great at not only rushing the passer, but also at setting the edge in the run game. New England lost Trey Flowers before this season and while they did great without him, they could be even better after adding some talent to the spot.
