2020 NFL Draft: Joe Burrow will carry hopes of entire Bengals fanbase

If Joe Burrow can win in Cincinnati, he will be hailed as a hero.
Every indication is that the Bengals will draft Joe Burrow with the first overall pick. There will likely be trade offers, and of course there are other great players available. Chase Young is a generational talent at defensive end, and Justin Herbert has the kind of arm NFL teams love. There’s also Tua Tagovailoa, who is coming off a serious injury but is certainly a tremendous talent and prospect if healthy.
Burrow is the obvious pick, though. What he has done is simply breathtaking. He’s the player the Bengals need, and that they should want. He’s a great player, a terrific leader, and has a toughness that can’t be coached. He seems like the perfect pick. The fans of Cincinnati hope so. They’ve waited a long time. It’s been nearly 30 years without a playoff win, and that’s long enough.
Bengals fans want Joe Burrow. More importantly, they believe in Joe Burrow. Once his selection is official, the expectation is playoffs within a few years, and a playoff win shortly thereafter. The weight of a city will be on his shoulders.

Burrow’s journey from high school star to number one pick of the draft has been an unusual one. However, it’s one worth talking about, but his story isn’t over yet. Fans in Cincinnati are looking forward to the next part of his story. You know the one. Hapless football team finds the star quarterback who leads them to the promised land after years of ineptitude.
