Last offseason, the Packers went out and added some new edge rushers in Za’Darius Smith and Preston Smith. This came after saying goodbye to Clay Matthews, who had a great run with the team.

As for the two Smith’s, they were great for Green Bay. Za’Darius led the team with 13.5 sacks and Preston was right behind him with another 12. While both were impressive, they use a fifth-round pick here on someone who can develop behind them and offer up some depth.

D.J. Wonnum looks the part at 6-foot-5 and 260 and showed flashes for the Gamecocks. His numbers don’t stand out but he has plenty to work with and could be a rotational edge rusher.

With their first of two picks in the sixth round, the Packers add another offensive lineman. This time, it’s Colton McKivitz from West Virgina. McKivits is a huge guy at 6-foot-7 and 312-pounds but needs to improve his play strength.

McKivitz does come in with a lot of experience during his four years with the Mountaineers but is not a finished project just yet. He’s a developmental guy but Green Bay has their starters, so that’s really all they’re looking for at this point in the draft.
