1. Justin Herbert, Oregon

Just to make it clear, moving on from Dak Prescott is not what I am advocating. Dallas has put the past four years into his development and he had 4,902 yards in his first season working with Kellen Moore as his offensive coordinator. The problem is, the Cowboys have painted themselves into a corner with the way they paid so many players that they could end up making a crazy move. And if they did, their best outcome would be to turn any assets they get for No. 4 into Oregon’s Justin Herbert.

Outside of Joe Burrow, Herbert is the most complete quarterback — and no, I didn’t forget about Tua. This is a kid who could have been the top pick in 2019 had he elected to forgo his senior season but decided to return in order to have his younger brother on his team.

Herbert then had a good but not great season. He showed some of his warts which included some questionable decision making — and terrible interceptions. He also showed off one of the best arms in the nation and when he got into a good rhythm, he was nearly unstoppable.

After the season was over, he then went on to have a great Senior Bowl and showed off his competitive nature in that game as he was willing to take off and run, putting himself in harm’s way despite it being an All-Star game.

Herbert is going to be a top-10 pick and Dallas would not only save money but could look brilliant should Mike McCarthy and Kellen Moore be able to get the most out of this young man.
