After tearing apart the roster, and finishing 5-11, can the Miami Dolphins begin the road to contending in the 2020 NFL Draft?

Following a disappointing 7-9 season in 2018; Miami Dolphins owner, Stephen Ross, decided it was time for a change. After letting go of Executive Vice President of Football Operations, Mike Tannenbaum, and firing head coach, Adam Gase, Ross put all his faith into general manager, Chris Grier. They will need to continue to put their trust in him in a make or break 2020 NFL Draft.

The Dolphins immediately went into a complete rebuild of the coaching staff and roster. This overhaul began with the hiring of former New England Patriots’ assistant, Brian Flores, to be the franchise’s 13th Head Coach. The roster was then ripped to shreds throughout the next several months. Key veterans such as running back Frank Gore, and pass rusher Cameron Wake, were allowed to leave in free agency.

Thus began the trading of several talented players, with the attempt to acquire as much draft capital as possible. quarterback Ryan Tannehill, was sent to the Tennessee Titans, running back Kenyan Drake, was shipped to Arizona, left tackle Laremy Tunsil and wide receiver Kenny Stills were sent to the Houston Texans, in a blockbuster deal. Finally, after being displeased with his role in a new defense, star safety, Minkah Fitzpatrick, forced his way out of Miami.
