The Washington Redskins add some playmakers to the defensive side of the ball with their early selections in this 2020 7-round mock draft

It’s pretty widely known what will be happening with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft as the Cincinnati Bengals should be calling on Joe Burrow out of LSU. Once they get their quarterback, that’s when things start to get interesting as the Washington Redskins will be on the board ready to either pick a stud, or listen to some offers.

Washington is in a pretty good spot this offseason as they believe they have their quarterback of the future in Dwayne Haskins. The No. 15 overall pick out of Ohio State appeared in nine games while starting seven. Washington was 2-5 with him under center but the important thing is he showed steady improvement as the season progressed.

In his final two starts for the Redskins, he was 31-of-43 passing for 394 yards with four touchdowns and no picks. He has a lot to learn still but the promise and growth he showed was enough to believe in him as their face of the franchise.

However, many other teams aren’t as fortunate. The Miami Dolphins, Los Angeles Chargers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and maybe even Carolina Panthers all need to get better under center. That means they could call Washington and try to move to the second overall spot in order to grab Tua Tagovailoa.

We probably won’t know for sure until the draft starts what will happen but in this 7-round mock draft, we will be making the selections as if the Redskins don’t get any offers that blow them away. With that being said, we dive right in with the second overall pick.
