With a roster ready to win now, could the Chargers convince “TB12” to come back to the west coast?

With Phillip Rivers and the Los Angeles Chargers agreeing to part ways, the team will be looking for a quarterback for the first time in almost two decades. The Chargers have been connected to Brady for months now. The team has a lot of talent on the roster and are just one year removed from going 12-4 and winning a playoff game, on the road, against Lamar Jackson’s Ravens.

Even with all the talent and experience on the roster, Brady may still decide that the Chargers are not the team he wants to cap off his legendary career with. If this happens, the Chargers have a lot of options with how they would continue to build their team. The Chargers are still a very talented team with a bright future, and will still be a playoff threat for years to come.

The Los Angeles Chargers hold the sixth pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. This pick presents them with the opportunity to take their next franchise Quarterback. Oregon’s Justin Herbert is the perfect fit for the Chargers. He can play right now for a team with playoff aspirations and has enough athleticism to make up for their lack of an offensive line.

If Brady elects to sign with the Chargers, they can assert themselves as a playoff threat. With their sixth pick in the draft, L.A. would need to focus their premium first round pick on an offensive tackle. With a team trying to compete for a playoff spot now, taking a player with the least amount of learning curve. Alabama’s Jedrick Wills is a smooth pass blocker who can help a playoff team immediately.
