How Tom Brady’s decision affects multiple NFL Franchises
New England’s playoff loss to the Tennessee Titans is certainly still in the back of Brady’s mind.
The Tennessee Titans are coming off of an improbable playoff run in 2019. Derrick Henry carried this team on his shoulders, powering through every defender in his path. However, what made the Titans offense explode was the insertion of quarterback, Ryan Tannehill, into the starting spot. Tannehill won back to back road playoff games against Lamar Jackson’s Baltimore Ravens, and the defending Super Bowl Champion, New England Patriots. While the Titans built a big lead against the Kansas City Chiefs, they inevitably fell to the greatness of Patrick Mahomes.
Brady to Tennessee rumors have begun to take flight after Brady was recently seen out in public on FaceTime with Titans head coach, Mike Vrabel. If the Titans are able to get Brady to agree to join them, they would become immediate Super Bowl contenders. The Titans have a phenomenal offensive line, improved weapons over the last year, and an excellent defense, Brady and Tennessee feel like a perfect fit.
If Tom Brady decides that Nashville is not his next NFL home, the Titans may be in some financial trouble. They’ve elected to use their franchise tag on Derrick Henry, which means impending free agents, Ryan Tannehill and Jack Conklin, may be on their way out. The Titans have middling cap space but big contracts to sort out. They may not be able to retain Tannehill if it becomes a bidding war for his services.
