The Cardinals sprinted this card to officials as soon as they were on the clock. Akeem Davis-Gaither is a small school prospect with big-time potential. He is a great weapon in the passing game; he can drop back into coverage and cover tight ends and slot receivers and disrupt the passer when sent on a blitz. In Vance Joseph’s 3-4 scheme you could really get creative with Davis-Gaither and help to maximize his potential.
Davis-Gaither comes in a bit undersized; weighing in at the combine at 224-pounds. He may struggle to find the field on early downs until he can get himself in an NFL weight room and add some mass to him, but nonetheless, he can be a playmaker against the pass and his athletic profile makes him an intriguing developmental prospect.

Jabari Zuniga is an excellent athlete for his size and for the edge position; after his combine, he finished with a RAS (Relative Athletic Score) of 9.67 — RAS “takes player measurements and put them on an easy to understand 0 to 10 scale compared to their position group”. Zuniga didn’t get the best opportunity this season to put his talent on display due to injuries; he was only able to appear in 5 games this season for Florida.
Zuniga may fit better in a 4-3 scheme, with his hand in the dirt, but with some added weight he would be a great fit as the strong-side defensive end on Joseph’s defense. Zuniga is an enticing prospect who could be a valuable asset to any defense with a few years of development at the next level.
