1. Kendall Fuller, Cornerback, Kansas City Chiefs

There’s a lot of debate among the Cowboys fan base right now about Byron Jones. The former Pro Bowl defensive back is set to hit the open market with Dallas making no effort to re-sign him and fans can’t understand why.

Whether or not that’s a smart move is for a different day. What matters is the Cowboys need a new starting corner and it just so happens a good one will be available in Kendall Fuller, most recently of the Super Bowl-winning Kansas City Chiefs.

According to Pro Football Focus (subscription required), Fuller had a down year with the Chiefs, who used him in more of a safety role at times this season. However, before going to Kansas City, he was a star with the Washington Redskins. In 2017, he was graded at 90.6 by PFF and had a career-high four picks that season. It was also his final season with Washington as he was traded to the Chiefs in the Alex Smith deal.

For Dallas, adding someone such as Fuller makes a lot of sense. First, he’s not going to cost as much as Jones will which would allow Dallas to land more players with the savings. Also, it keeps them from needing to draft a cornerback with their first pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

They might not be able to land all three of these free agents, but there’s no doubt they would help the team improve while also making the upcoming draft much less stressful.
