Matt Rhule has work cut out in 2020 NFL Draft 7-round mock
Round 2, Pick 38: Antoine Winfield Jr, S, Minnesota
Antoine Winfield Jr. is a player who can be the catalyst for a playmaking secondary. Winfield made countless plays for a Minnesota team that shocked everyone in 2019. Winfield’s game against the Penn State Nittany Lions is a perfect example of the type of impact he can have on a football game.

With Tre Boston headed to the free agent, the Carolina Panthers in dire need of safety help. Play-makers on the back end are the marker of every good defense. The defending champion Kansas City Chiefs had a dynamic safety tandem of Juan Thornhill and Tyrann Mathieu making plays on the back end.
Round 3, Pick 69: Adam Trautman, TE, Dayton
This feels like absolute highway robbery for the Carolina Panthers. Dayton tight end, Adam Troutman, could be the steal of the draft at pick 69. Troutman is a receiving threat who can block. Whichever team drafts him is likely to use him as a chess piece, and line him up in multiple places all over their field. Troutman can help the development of the young quarterback they inevitably bring in as a security blanket.
With legendary tight end, Greg Olsen, departing for the Seattle Seahawks, the Carolina Panthers have a massive void at tight end. Olsen was Newton’s security blanket for the better part of a decade, and now Adam Troutman can be that for the next Panthers quarterback. Troutman, Christian Mccaffrey, Curtis Samuel, and D.J. Moore would give the Panthers a great young core of weapons.
