Matt Rhule has work cut out in 2020 NFL Draft 7-round mock
Round 6, Pick, 184: Lynn Bowden, WR, Kentucky
Lynn Bowden is a converted receiver-quarterback from the university of Kentucky. Bowden converted to quarterback in 2019 after the Kentucky team was ravaged by injuries. Bowden presents an option for Carolina to play copycat. In New Orleans, Taysom Hill has been doing amazing things for Sean Payton. Matt Rhule and Joe Brady will surely have fun doing variations of the Wildcat with Lynn Bowden and Christian McCaffery. Bowden could provide a lot of production for a sixth round pick.
Round 7, Pick 221: Cole McDonald, QB, Hawaii
While they say they remain committed to Cam Newton, the Panthers will move on at some point. If it happens to be this off-season, they can take a flier on a supremely talented quarterback in the seventh round. With neither Kyle Allen or Will Grier showing any promise last season, the Panthers need to bring a quarterback in to take a chance on.
McDonald is unbelievably talented. He ran the fastest quarterback 40 yard dash time at the entire 2020 NFL Scouting combine. To go along with this athleticism, McDonald has a rocket arm. The problem with him is inconsistency. At Hawaii, McDonald was benched numerous times after throwing interceptions. This has hindered the development of Cole McDonald.
