The Lions trade cornerback Darius Slay to the Eagles, got a third and fifth-round pick to add to their 2020 NFL Draft arsenal. Here is a 7-round mock

The Detroit Lions are in a position to make moves this offseason, especially in the 2020 NFL Draft. The Detroit Lions went (3-12-1) on the season and hold the third overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. The Lions are arguably sitting in the best spot in the 2020 NFL Draft with the third overall pick. The Lions should trade down in the draft and pick up draft capital which they can use to trade with or pick up future draft capital for years to come. The Lions are in the driver’s seat right now and could also go with the best player available and be just fine for the future.

The Lions can go in different directions in the draft with all of the team needs that the Lions would like to fill this offseason. The Lions need another top tier cornerback, the Lions play a lot of man-to-man scheme and are the trade of Darius Slay, they may need to invest at the cornerback position early.

Another whole that the Lions need to fill this offseason is defensive lineman, especially the interior defensive line. With Damon ‘Snacks’ Harrison getting released by the Lions than retiring this offseason, they need to get another playmaker on the defensive line if they want to have success on stopping the run and getting to the opponent’s quarterback.

The last biggest need that the Lions need to fill this offseason is the offensive line. The Lions just released offensive tackle Rick Wagner and their center Graham Grasgow is gonna test free agency this offseason. The Lions need to fill holes this offseason that I see them fixing in the 2020 NFL Draft.
