Round 1, Pick 14: Andrew Thomas |OT| Georgia

With the 14th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select, Andrew Thomas, offensive tackle, Georgia.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ number one job over the next two seasons is to protect Tom Brady at all costs. The Bucs are getting personally my favorite tackle in this draft class in Andrew Thomas. Thomas is not an athletic freak like Tristan Wirfs or Mekhi Becton but Thomas to me is the best pass-blocking tackle in this draft which is exactly what the Bucs need with Tom Brady on their team.

What I like best about Andrew Thomas besides his pass blocking ability is that he played in an NFL scheme when he played at the University of Georgia. Kirby Smart, the University of Georgia’s head football coach, ran a pro-style offense with Jake Fromm in at quarterback which I think really will help Andrew Thomas at the next level of his professional career.

Round 2, Pick 45: Grant Delpit |S| LSU

With the 45th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select, Grant Delpit, safety, LSU.

We are not doing trades in this 7-round team mock and you might be asking me, Grant Delpit is a first-round lock. With his coverage skills, I will agree with you but his tackling his skills is what will make him fall just like last year when cornerback Greedy Williams fell all the way to the Browns in the 2nd round. I think this is very possible that Delpit could fall all the way to the Buccaneers.

I really like Grant Delpit out of LSU but there is that one problem that everyone talks about and that is his lack of being aggressive while tackling. Delpit misses tackles left and right when he was at LSU. The Bucs need stunt coverage safety and that is exactly what Delpit is.

The Bucs have very young cornerbacks that played very well at the end of the season but they never had that stunt safety to help them out in the middle of the field. The Bucs are gonna get that with Delpit and I think Delpit fits what the Bucs want to do on defense.
