While Las Vegas will not host the 2020 NFL Draft, there is no plans to give the city the 2021 NFL Draft, as Northeast Ohio will keep the hosting rights.

Later this month, the new home of the Raiders was set to receive a warm welcome to the NFL by hosting the 2020 NFL Draft; this event will now be moved to a conference call amid the COVID-19 outbreak. Bad news for the city of Las Vegas as it looks like they will have completely missed out on their opportunity to host the NFL Draft.

Sorry Las Vegas, but the NFL has no plans to move the 2021 NFL Draft out of the Northeast Ohio Canton and Cleveland locations despite the Sin City losing their opportunity to host this year’s affair. A trying time for all as the quarantine has kept most of the population indoors, but the show will go on as planned in 2021 as the Pro Football Hall of Fame will be on full display.

Not all bad news, however, as according to 92.3 The Fan in Cleveland’s Daryl Ruiter, Las Vegas could get another opportunity in 2022 despite the draft reportedly being rewarded to Green Bay. We are all scrambling to get re-situated in the new circumstances caused by this pandemic, and the NFL and its leadership are no exception.

The 2020 NFL Draft is still scheduled to take place later this month, but how the league plans to advertise and air the event will be interesting to see as we inch just three weeks away. All we know is that it will not be a public event and will not be in Las Vegas.
