Rumors of EA Sports’ plans to help with 2020 NFL Draft exaggerated
The 2020 NFL Draft is right around the corner. How will players hear their name be called? Is EA Sports willing to help out the NFL?
The 2020 NFL Draft is just weeks away, as it approaches we are hearing more and more about the event and how the event will unfold due to COVID-19. A few weeks ago, the NFL came out and said that there would not any fans aloud to come to the NFL Draft event or any of the team draft parties. Two weeks ago the NFL came out and said that Las Vegas would no longer be hosting the draft event due to COVID-19. What is next for the 2020 NFL Draft?
One of the things that broke the media world last week via Ian Rapoport of NFL Media was that the EA Sports, the company that makes Madden, is going to create some virtual meetings with all of the first-round picks and Roger Goodell, the NFL Commissioner. As of right now, there is not a specific plan, but the two sides have rumored that they are talking it over.
These are all rumors, but the EA Sports franchise came out and said they have had talks with the NFL but nothing is set in stone for this year’s NFL Draft, this is the rumor that broke. Nothing has even resulted into meetings yet either.
“While we continue to work closely with the NFL on how we could support this year’s NFL Draft, the plans that have been rumored in recent reports are untrue. We don’t typically respond to rumors, but we don’t want fans to be misled,” the statement from EA Sports stated.
The 2020 NFL Draft starts on April 23rd, we will plenty of more news that breaks on how are the players gonna hear their names when they called. It is not all about day one either, how will day 3 players get to hear there be called as well?
